EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
What is the iColor 650 Decal Printing Package?
– A decal-specific configuration built around the UNINET iColor 650 white toner printer.
It is tuned for white and full-color decals, waterslide-style transfers, and hard-surface graphics, so you can produce
professional decals in-house instead of outsourcing or relying on discontinued hardware.
Can this package replace an ALPS printer for decals?
– Yes. The iColor 650 delivers opaque white, rich CMYK color, and high-resolution output on compatible decal media,
including clear and blue-backed sheets. It provides the ALPS-style ability to print white and color on clear film,
but with current hardware, current supplies, and a modern RIP-driven workflow.
What is the print resolution for decals?
– The iColor 650 prints at up to 1200 dpi, which is ideal for tiny text, instrument logos, scale model markings,
and detailed artwork that has to look clean and sharp even at very small sizes.
What kinds of decal media can this package handle?
– The decal package is designed for toner-safe decal and waterslide-style media, including clear sheets, white-backed sheets,
and blue-backed options that make white prints easy to see and trim. You can use them for models, tumblers, glass, ceramics,
electronics housings, signage, and other hard surfaces, following each media’s specific instructions.
Do I need a heat press for decals?
– Many waterslide-style and AquaClear-type decal media are water-activated and applied by soaking and sliding,
with no press required. Certain specialty hard-surface transfer papers and apparel transfers do benefit from a heat press.
This package is focused on decal applications, so you can start with water-activated media and add a press later if you want
to expand into garments and other heat-applied products.
Who is this decal package designed for?
– Scale model builders, RC and slot car enthusiasts, guitar and instrument makers, custom tumbler and drinkware shops,
electronics and boutique pedal builders, small brands, and print shops that need short-run, on-demand decals with opaque white.
Is any training or help included?
– Yes. Along with the hardware and software, you receive access to support and getting-started resources that walk through
the white toner decal workflow, from artwork setup and RIP settings to printing, soaking, sliding, and finishing.
Can I still print other types of transfers with this setup?
– Absolutely. Although this package is configured with decals in mind, the iColor 650 is capable of producing a wide range
of transfer types when paired with the appropriate media, giving you room to grow into apparel, promotional items, and more.
